Introduction

We are WorkStarr, Inc. d/b/a LifeStarr, and we are a company that produces an App and Site that lets you collaborate and manage tasks with anyone, anywhere, about anything.

 This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) describes the types of information we collect via the Site and the App and how we use it. It is also meant to help you understand what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you may be able to manage the information we collect. This Privacy Policy applies to the Site and the App and our use of social media sites and any other personal information obtained when you call, email, or otherwise communicate with LifeStarr.

By accessing the Site or the App on any computer, mobile phone, tablet, or other device (collectively, “Device”), making a purchase from LifeStarr, or otherwise interacting with LifeStarr, including, without limitation, accepting a task request from a registered user, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the Privacy Policy, you are not authorized to use the Site or the App. We ask that you read this Privacy Policy in conjunction with our Terms of Use. Any terms that are not defined in this Privacy Policy shall have the meaning ascribed to it in our Terms of Use.

We may modify this Privacy Policy at any time, and will post the current version on the Site and App, as applicable. We encourage you to periodically review our Privacy Policy to stay informed about how we are using your information. 

Information We Collect

 Information You Provide

We collect personal information from you when you submit it to us, including by: (1) registering an account on the App; (2) subscribing or placing an order; (3) signing up for communications; (4) contacting us; or (5) participating in a promotion or survey. This information may include, for example, your first and last name, email address, mailing address, billing address, telephone number, date of birth, and payment method. We may combine the information we collect from you with information we receive about you from other sources.

 

We use a third party card processor for all credit card transactions, and we do not store any credit card information on our Site or the App. We may collect personal information from you when you write a review on our Site or App.

 

In some jurisdictions, individuals may have the right to opt-in or withdraw consent for certain uses. If you reside in such jurisdictions, you may have additional rights which are detailed below, “Access, Correction and Deletion.”

 

Information We Collect Automatically 

Usage and Device Information. When you visit the Site or use the App, we may collect certain information from you, including, for example, your IP address, operating system, device-identifying information, how you interact with the App and Site, the specific web pages visited during your connection, and the domain name from which you accessed the Site or App. In addition, we may collect information about your browsing behavior, such as the date and time you visit the Site or the App, the time zone and/or location from which you access the Site or the App, the areas or pages of the Site or App that you visit, the amount of time you spend viewing the Site or App, the number of times you return to the Site or App and other similar data. We collect content you create on the App or Site such as tasks as well as information about the content you create or provide. We may also use non-personal or aggregated information for statistical analysis, research, and other purposes.

 

Cookies and Other Technology. We may use cookies or “local storage” to: (1) allow you to use the Service without having to re-enter your user name and password; (2) enhance or personalize your usage experience; (3) monitor usage; (4) manage the Site and the App; and (5) improve the Site, the App and our Service, including providing you with interest-based ads. For more information on our advertising, see below: “Interest-Based Advertising.” If you choose, you can set your browser to reject cookies or you can manually delete individual cookies or all of the cookies on your computer by following your browser’s help file directions. However, if your browser is set to reject cookies or you manually delete cookies, certain functionality may be limited or restricted.

 

We may also use web beacons and other applications or features to help us analyze user behavior and measure the effectiveness of the Site, the App and our advertising. We may work with service providers that help us track, collect and analyze this information.

We may combine the information we collect through cookies and web beacons with other information we have collected from you or information from other sources.

 

Information We May Collect With Your Permission 

Email and Other Content. When you link you e-mail address to your account, you agree to provide us with access to your e-mail. Independently or with the help of third party service providers, We may collect, with your permission, information and data contained in your emails (including attachments, photos, and documents), email contacts, calendars, and those with whom you communicate via email. Unless stated otherwise in this Privacy Policy, we may use this information to provide you with interest-based advertising services described in this Privacy Policy. Should you change your mind after providing permission, you may opt out of sharing additional information with us by deleting your LifeStarr account.

 

Additional Limits on Use of Your Google User Data. Notwithstanding anything else in this Privacy Policy, if you provide the App access to the types of your Google data listed in the “Email and Other Content” section above, the App's use of that data will be subject to these additional restrictions:

The App will only use or access your information to read, write, modify or control of your Google data including message bodies (including attachments), metadata, headers, and settings to provide a web email client that allows users to compose, send, read, and process emails and will not transfer this Google data to others unless doing so is necessary to provide and improve the App’s features, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. If we transfer your Google data as a result of complying with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, we will notify you of such transfer unless such notice is prohibited by law.

The App will not use your Google data for serving advertisements.

We will not allow our personnel or other individuals to read your data unless (a) we have your affirmative agreement to view specific messages, files, or other data, (b) doing so is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, (c) doing so is necessary to comply with applicable law, or (d) our use is limited to the App's internal operations and even then only when the data have been aggregated and anonymized. 

 

How We Use Information 

Firstly, we do not sell your information to any third party for any reason. We may use the information we collect from and about you for any of the following purposes: (1) to fulfill your requests for Service; (2) to respond to your inquiries; (3) to send you a confirmation email when you subscribe for the Service or make a purchase; (4) to review Site and App usage and operations; (5) to address problems with the Site or APP, our business or the Service; (6) to protect the security or integrity of the Site, the App and our business; (7) to monitor the Site and App for compliance with our Terms and the law; (8) to contact you with updates, newsletters and other informational and promotional materials from us and third party marketing offers from partners, as well as from other companies; and (9) to provide interest-based advertising to you based on the way you use the Site, the App, and other platforms.

 

If you sign up for our mailing list, we will send you informational emails about offers of services. At any time, you can ‘unsubscribe’ yourself from our email list simply by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ button.

 

If you do not wish to receive communications from us about special offers and promotions, you can opt-out of receiving these communications by following the instructions contained in the messages you receive. Even if you opt-out of receiving these messages, we reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the Service, and we may send you Service announcements and administrative messages. We do not offer you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving those communications. How We Disclose Information 

Because we strongly believe against the practice, we want to reiterate that we do not sell any information to third parties.

 

Disclosure. We may disclose information collected from and about you as follows: (1) to our related companies and service providers, to perform a business, professional or technical support function for us; (2) to our marketing partners, advertisers or other third parties, who may contact you with their own offers; (3) as necessary if we believe that there has been a violation of the Terms or of our rights or the rights of any third party; (4) to respond to legal process (such as a search warrant, subpoena or court order) and provide information to law enforcement agencies or in connection with an investigation on matters related to public safety, as permitted by law, or otherwise as required by law; and (5) in the event that our company or substantially all of its assets are acquired, your personal information may be one of the transferred assets. We may also disclose your personal information with your express consent. We may share aggregate, non-personally identifiable information about users with third parties.

 

Please note that if you voluntarily submit any personal information for posting in a public area of the Site or App (as opposed to Tasks or your user profile), such as a review or a blog post, the information becomes publicly available and can be collected and used by others, so you should use care before posting information about yourself online.

 

Interest-Based Advertising. We may use third-party advertising companies that use tracking technologies to serve our advertisements across the Internet. These companies may collect information about your visits to the Site and the App and other websites and your interaction with our advertising and other communications. These advertising companies serve ads on behalf of us and others on non-affiliated sites, and some of those ads may be personalized, meaning that they are intended to be relevant to you based on information collected about your visits to the Site, the App, and elsewhere over time. Other companies may also use such technology to advertise on our Site and App.

 

Other Important Information 

Children

Our Services are not intended for anyone under the age of 13. Neither the Site, nor the Services, nor the App are directed to children, nor do we knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of thirteen without verifiable parental consent. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us promptly as described below, and we will endeavor to investigate and delete such information from our systems.

 

California Privacy Rights 

Right to Removal. California law permits our customers who are California residents to request certain information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year. This request is free and may be made once a year. To make such a request, please write to us at the following address: support@lifestarr.com.

 

Right to Removal of Posted Information—California Minors. If you are under 18 years of age, reside in California, and have a registered account with us, you have the right to request removal of unwanted information that you publicly post on the Site or App. To request removal of such information, you can contact us as provided below. Upon receiving such a request, we will make the information not publicly available on the Site or App, as applicable, but the information may not be completely or comprehensively removed from our systems and databases.

Users from Outside the United States 

The Site and App are hosted in the United States. If you are using the Site or App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States or other countries in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  The data protection and other applicable laws of the United States or other countries may not be as comprehensive as those laws or regulations in your country or may otherwise differ from the data protection or consumer protection laws in your country. Your information may be available to government authorities under lawful orders and law applicable in such jurisdictions. By using the Site, the App and/or the Service provided therein, and/or providing personal information to us, you consent to transfer of your information to our facilities as described in this Privacy Policy. 

 

Access, Correction, & Deletion

We respect your right to access and correct your personal information. You may access your personal information by signing into your account. From there, you can correct or modify your information. You may also exercise your rights, subject to applicable laws, to request that we delete or restrict access to your personal data. If you need assistance correcting or updating your personal information, or would like to request that we delete your personal information, please contact us using the contact information detailed in the “Contact Us” section below.

 

Retention of Personal Information 

Personal information that we collect, access or process will be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of the purposes for which it was collected, unless otherwise provided in agreements between you and LifeStarr or as required or authorized by law. Personal information that is no longer required to fulfill the identified purposes will be destroyed, erased or de-identified.

 

Security 

We use measures designed to maintain information we collect in a secure manner. We have taken certain physical, electronic, technical, and administrative steps and procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect from users. Even though we follow procedures designed to protect the information in our possession, no security is perfect and we cannot promise, and you should not expect, that your information will be secure in all circumstances.

 

Third Party Links 

The Site and App may contain links, and you may receive links from other users, to third-party websites, such as social media sites, which may have privacy policies and practices that differ from our own. We are not responsible for the activities and practices that take place on these sites or apps. Accordingly, we recommend that you review the privacy policy posted on any external site before disclosing any personal information. Please contact those sites and apps directly if you have any questions about their privacy policies.

 

Changes to This Privacy Policy 

We may change this privacy policy from time to time, including as required to keep current with rules and regulations, new technologies and security standards. When we do, we will post the change(s) on our Site and App, as applicable. If we change the policy in a material and retroactive manner, we will provide appropriate notice to you.
