What Would Your Trade Show Booth Say About Your Business?

Imaginary Trade Show Booth for LifeStarr

Alright, let’s be real. Most solopreneurs will never set up a trade show booth.

But that’s not the point.

The point is this: if you had to build a booth, what would it say?

Because if you're not sure, there's a pretty good chance your business messaging isn’t as clear as it needs to be.

And that matters, because whether you’re on a sales call, posting on LinkedIn, or talking to someone at your local coffee shop, your business is always on display.

Why This Exercise Is So Powerful

Imagine this: You’re at the Solopreneur Expo. It’s packed with people who hire one-person businesses of all kinds. The exhibitors are solopreneurs. Some are competitors, and others are in totally different businesses.

You’ve got a 10x10 space and a few seconds to catch the right person’s attention before they keep walking.

No room for rambling. No room for fluff.

Just:

  • One headline that stops them mid-stride
  • One compelling image to drive the point home visually
  • Two or three short sentences to make them say, “Wait, this is what I need.”

That’s it.

Can you do it?

If not, you’re not alone. But it means there’s work to be done.

Because if your message doesn’t come into focus under pressure, it’s probably not landing clearly in real life either.

A Trade Show Booth Is Just a Mirror

This whole exercise is not about graphics or banners.

It’s about clarity. Simplicity. Precision.

A booth is just a stripped-down version of your brand.

No filler. Just the good stuff:

  • What do you do?
  • Who do you help?
  • Why should anyone care?

And here’s the kicker: Would your dream client stop, look, and say, “That’s for me”?

If not, they’re walking right past you.

Here’s What LifeStarr’s Booth Might Look Like

If LifeStarr had a booth at the imaginary Solopreneur Expo, it might look like this:

Image:

A solopreneur sitting at a sidewalk café. Laptop closed. Espresso in hand. Laughing with a friend.

The world’s buzzing around them, but they’re fully present.

This isn’t about hustle culture; it’s about balance, freedom, and confidence.

Headline:

Lead Gen, Sales & AI Systems Built for Solopreneurs

Subtext:

More clarity. Less chaos.

Get the structure, tools, and community you need to grow your business, without losing control of your life in the process.

That’s it.

Clear. Targeted. No startup jargon. No corporate nonsense.

Just a straight-up invitation to the people we’re here to help.

Now Imagine Your Booth

You don’t need to rent a booth to do this. You just need to answer a few key questions:

  1. What’s the image that shows your client’s ideal future?
  2. What’s the headline that would stop them mid-walk, or mid-scroll?
  3. What’s your subtext that tells the truth, not just what sounds impressive?

If you’re stuck, try this:

  • Brain-dump 10 headlines. Don’t edit, just write.
  • Pick the best one.
  • Rewrite your subtext until it sounds like something you’d actually say out loud.
  • Pick an image that shows the outcome, not just the process.

Final Thought

You may never build a trade show booth. But every time someone lands on your website, sees your LinkedIn post, or hears you describe what you do at a party, they’re essentially walking by your “booth.”

The world won’t wait for you to explain yourself. So make your message count!
